CHRISTOPHER M. NANCARROW
The Clerk of the Circuit and Superior Courts is a county elected official who serves as an officer of the court and the manager of court information.
The Clerk administers the official court records for all trial court cases with jurisdiction in Allen County, prepares the permanent historical records for the courts, processes and issues various documents for court cases, and is responsible for more than $90 million in financial transactions annually.
As a member of the Election Board, the Clerk oversees, conducts and certifies the results for all federal, state, county, township, municipal, special, and school board elections.
Our Duties:
- Receipt filing fees, fines and costs for all court cases
- Collect and disburses Child Support payments
- Collect court costs and disburse judgment monies
- Process marriage applications and issue marriage licenses
- File and process new cases for Civil, Criminal, Family Relations, Probate and Small Claims Divisions
- Issue various court documents including arrest warrants, commitments, jailer's releases, protective orders, service of process and writs
- Maintain the Judgment Docket and Record of Judgments and Orders
- Oversee the maintenance and microfilming of court records
- Prepare certified copies of documents
- Generate notices for jury duty

COURT-RELATED CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION
The Indiana Supreme Court issued information outlining changes for all state-level courts in Indiana which are effective through May 17. Detailed information may be viewed here.

Effective March 18, the public's access to the main Courthouse and the Small Claims Annex Building will be restricted to only allow entry for parties to a case and their attorneys, persons seeking a protection order, Prosecutor staff, Court staff, Clerk staff, Sheriff staff, interpreters and members of the media. This restriction will remain in effect until further notice. The memorandum regarding this restriction is found here.
The Clerk's office is committed to providing services to the public and will be monitoring the situation closely with local officials and the judiciary. E-FILING UPDATES FOR ALLEN COUNTY

NOTICE: Cellular telephones, pagers, cameras, and other electronic devices are banned from the Allen County Courthouse, the Courthouse Annex, the Charles "Bud" Meeks Justice Center, and the Allen County Juvenile Center. If you bring such a device into the building, the Sheriff may confiscate and destroy it.
